Rodley is a ground-up redrawing of Bairne, the first-ever typeface from Fettle Foundry. It features a completely new character set, redrawn glyphs, improved spaces, and brand-new kerning that more closely resembles the original vision for the typeface. However, these substantial changes have made Rodley a distinct typeface in its own right.
Inspired by low-contrast Swiss and modernist grotesque typefaces, Rodley incorporates characterful geometric shapes. It aims to be a more disruptive choice for brands while retaining the appeal of typefaces in those popular styles.
Based on a Latin S character set, Rodley supports 413 Latin-based languages, with a focus on pan-European and South American languages. Thorough kerning has been applied to various character combinations, including uppercase/lowercase, uppercase/uppercase, lowercase/lowercase, and CamelCase. Attention has also been paid to an extensive number of diacritical combinations.
Rodley features 664 glyphs, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, numerators, ordinals, and superiors; old-style and tabular figures; accented characters; ligatures; comprehensive OpenType features; low-contrast character design; mathematical symbols, arrows, and other special characters.
Available in 10 styles, including roman and italics, Rodley has been designed for various uses and sizes and maximum flexibility.
